Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify orders.
- Collect and process specimens, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare, label, and document specimens; operate and maintain lab equipment.
- Enter and manage data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR); assist with clerical tasks.
- Support cross-coverage needs, assist with various procedures, and maintain aseptic techniques.
- Provide patient-centered service and assist with scheduling and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Completion of medical terminology or phlebotomy training preferred.
- Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross required within 30 days of hire; must be maintained.
- Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required within 3–6 months of hire; must be maintained.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office).
- Able to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that inspires and motivates others.
