Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify orders
  • Collect and process specimens
  • Prepare lab orders and reports
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment
  • Verify lab orders and medical necessities
  • Accurately enter and manage data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Support cross-coverage needs within scope
  • Assist with clerical duties including faxing, copying, filing, scheduling, and answering phone calls
  • Provide patient-centered service by communicating test procedures, results, and follow-up instructions
  • Assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., tympanometry, spirometry)
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration

Requirements

  • Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
  • Completion of medical terminology or phlebotomy training preferred
  • Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross required within 30 days of hire; must be maintained
  • Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required within 3–6 months of hire; must be maintained
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office)
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
