This role is part of the Clinic Lab Assistant team at MercyOne.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify orders
• Collect and process specimens
• Prepare lab orders and reports
• Operate and maintain lab equipment
• Document and report test results accurately
• Support cross-coverage needs
• Assist with clerical tasks
• Provide patient-centered care
• Perform various procedures and diagnostic equipment

Requirements

• Comfortable in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
• Completion of medical terminology or phlebotomy training preferred
• Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience preferred
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross required within 30 days of hire
• Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required within 3–6 months of hire
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
