About the role
Perform a vital part of the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions. Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements, championing safety, compliance, and quality control.
This role has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Employees will be trained on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, abiding by all applicable privacy and security standards. Access to PHI is limited to what is required to fulfill job duties.
Responsibilities
- Process, prepare, route, and store laboratory specimens
- Identify and implement corrective actions when needed
- Maintain safety, compliance, and quality control standards
- Operate general laboratory equipment (e.g., telephones, computers, centrifuges, audible alarms)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
Qualifications
Bonus points if you have:
