About the role

The Laboratory Assistant I PRN plays a crucial role in the clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories at Moffitt Cancer Center. They ensure proper handling of all specimens and prepare them for testing under the supervision of lab professionals.

Responsibilities

• Computer data entry and order accessioning
• Specimen processing tasks such as centrifugation, aliquoting, slide preparation, packaging, shipment of referral laboratory specimens, and transport and delivery of specimens to testing departments

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to multi-task in a busy, disruptive environment
• Team player and adaptable to change
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong oral communication skills and sound reasoning capability
• Competent computer data entry skills
