About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and more. The DSP also assists with medical appointments, banking, community involvement, medication administration, following Behavior Support Plans, and adhering to medical guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Support daily living activities such as household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
• Aid in medical appointments, banking, community involvement, and outings
• Administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines
• Evacuate individuals from the home safely in case of emergencies
• Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations

Requirements

• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed above
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English
