Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can.
• Assist with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and other personal care needs so individuals look and feel their best.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, community outings, and activities.
• Administer medications as directed and follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals.
• Follow medical guidelines and agency policies; maintain certifications and comply with DDS regulations.
• Safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives.
• Varied interests and personal connections in the local community.
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history).
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.

Requirements

• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported, which may include holidays, overnights, or double-shifts.

Training

• Paid New Employee Orientation.
• Paid CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP).
• Program- and person-specific training provided at the individuals’ home.

Pay

$17.50 – $19.00 per hour (paid training included).

Schedule

• Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Friday 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
• Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Part-time: 24 hours per week.
