Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support dietary staff during meal preparation and tray line service.
- Prepare and cook meals following approved menus, therapeutic diets, and standardized recipes.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection control regulations.
- Monitor food quality, temperatures, portion control, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Assist with inventory management, food ordering, and proper storage procedures.
- Collaborate with dietary leadership and clinical staff to accommodate residents' nutritional and dietary needs.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, rehabilitation, or senior living setting is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and other physical kitchen duties.
