Position Summary

As part of the UST team and broader Tech24 network, the Foodservice (Hot-Side) Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing commercial cooking equipment at customer locations. This role requires strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Technicians work independently in the field, ensuring kitchen equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
  • Test components and verify proper operation after repairs
  • Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
  • Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
  • Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
  • Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
  • Participate in on-call rotation as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial cooking equipment repair experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
  • Strong gas and/or electric troubleshooting experience
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
  • Own industry standard hand tools
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $28-$35. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in commercial hot-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
