ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist students with instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher
- Aid in maintaining a positive, focused classroom environment
- Support instructional activities as directed by the teacher
- Conduct small group instruction to provide literacy and math support
- Lead intervention groups and conduct one-on-one instructional sessions
- Reteach and review Fundations concepts
- Support instruction during WINN (intervention/support) blocks
- Monitor, assist, and review student progress on Lexia/ST platforms
- Escort students between rooms and assist with toileting
- Supervise students during recess and lunch
- Copy materials for instructional purposes
- Aid in filing and preparing paperwork
- Alert teachers to any issues observed
- Ensure classroom safety standards are met
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Basic mathematical skills
- Computer skills (basic knowledge)
- Reasoning ability
- Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of district requirements and Board of Education policies
