About the role

Candidates selected to fill the role of Kindergarten Specialist for Wayzara Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching Kindergarten students in the areas of Music, Art, Mixed Arts, and PE
  • Providing prep time for Kindergarten teachers
  • Building strong and positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents
  • Managing classroom behavior
  • Implementing school wide testing protocols
  • Maintaining applicable student records to demonstrate improvement in behavior
  • Applying local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Preparing and maintaining records and reports
  • Operating a computer and applicable software applications
  • Communicating and interacting with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Qualifications

  • A valid MN K-5 teaching license
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners
  • The ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances
  • Proficiency with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring
