Kindergarten Specialist
About the role
Candidates selected to fill the role of Kindergarten Specialist Teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long-standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.
Responsibilities
- Work with only Kindergarten students in the areas of music, art, physical education, and technology.
- Design and deliver instruction that supports academic success for a diverse population of learners.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.
- Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment.
- Maintain and implement school-wide testing protocols.
- Manage classroom behavior and apply appropriate discipline.
- Apply local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Operate a computer and applicable software applications.
Requirements
- Previous elementary teaching experience is preferred.
- A valid MN K-5 Elementary Teaching License is required.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Deep knowledge of elementary pedagogy.
- Understanding of Social, Emotional and Behavior Development and Acquisition.
- Understanding of school wide assessments.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Record keeping principles.
- Knowledge of computers and related software applications.
Qualifications
- Must have strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.

- Maintaining applicable student records to demonstrate improvement in behavior.

- Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Pay
Compensation Range: $52,308- $123,452 (Depending on Education and Experience, Prorated on FTE)
