Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain strong organizational skills
  • Multi-task and handle multiple situations effectively
  • Engage in physical activity with children and ensure their safety through visual and auditory awareness
  • Assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children
  • Communicate effectively with children and their parents in English

Requirements

  • Possess active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or meet NAEYC and state Pre-K candidacy requirements
  • Meet state-specific Pre-K guidelines for the role
  • Have a state of Texas PreK teaching certificate or have a BA degree and be enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program (ACP)
  • Each Teacher of Record must meet one of the following:
    • At least 2 years of experience teaching in an accredited childcare program or Texas Rising Star program or Montessori program AND have a CDA
    • At least 8 years of experience teaching in an accredited childcare program or Texas Rising Star program
    • Participating in a coaching program (e.g., Texas School Ready) where the teacher will receive at least 150 total hours of coaching and professional development
    • Complete a formal Early Childhood training program approved by TEA such as Texas School Ready
  • Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency
  • Read, write, understand, and speak English
