Summary of Role
Under the direction of the Campus Pastor, the Campus Kids Ministry Pastor/Director provides leadership and supports the execution of ministry environments for kids and families from birth – preschool.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the weekend service experience for (Nursery/Preschool or Elementary) children and their families, in accordance with Emmanuel’s Campus Constants
- Manage, train and support impact team coordinator for nursery and preschool area
- Work closely with (Nursery/Preschool or Elementary) Impact Team Coordinator to recruit and develop an effective, organized, and growing team of Impact Team members
- Evaluate every environment through the lens of a first-time guest and the lens of children and families
- Partner with parents to provide resources to equip families to reinforce the kids ministry weekend service topics throughout the week
- Maintain safe and secure environments in classrooms
- Be the face of the ministry by maintaining a presence throughout kids ministry areas on Sunday
- Provide training, encouragement, feedback and support to families & impact team members in (Nursery/Preschool or Elementary) environments
- Ensure the large group environment is excellent by evaluating during and providing feedback after services to large group & production impact team members
- Participate in the planning & execution of campus and whole-church events, as requested
- Work closely with Centralized Kids Ministry staff to ensure standards for excellence and continuity are executed successfully
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma required; college degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Previous experience in children’s ministry, paid or volunteer, required. Experience in leadership of staff & volunteers preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology. Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated. Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information. Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity.
- Cultural & Spiritual Expectations of Staff: Champion the vision of Emmanuel Church. Foster and promote a healthy staff culture by adhering to the Emmanuel Staff Behavioral Values. Regularly participate in Emmanuel Church activities and events. Agree to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include: Financial support of the church with your household's tithe. Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings. Participate in community through small group. Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. Occasional need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
