About the role

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) serving 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state-operated school facility dedicated to offering state-approved four-course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. This role is part of KDE’s mission to partner with districts, schools, families, students, business, and industry to ensure success for every student in Kentucky’s P-12 public education system.

The Barren Area Technology Center in Glasgow, KY, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Machine Tool Instructor to teach occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, student-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught; OR
  • Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught; OR
  • Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.
  • Must be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area. Applicants can be hired without the needed certifications but must obtain them at the next available opportunity.

Pay

Annual salary range: $50,706.00 – $69,237.00, dependent on rank and experience.
