The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) serving 115 local feeder districts. As an Area Technology Center (ATC), we are dedicated to providing state-approved CTE pathways within various program areas.

About the role

The Kentucky Tech Computer Aided Drafting Instructor position is part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE and is not subject to KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service. This role is based in Logan County, Russellville, Kentucky.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught; OR Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught;
  • Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.
  • Special requirements:
    • Must be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program area (NCCR, ABC, AGC).
    • If not yet certified, must acquire the needed certification at the next available testing period.

Skills

  • Ability to teach Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) courses.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in CAD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

Salary dependent on qualifications, training, and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week.
