About the role
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach and is responsible for coaching, character development, and providing direction to student athletes to help them achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Coaches play a major role in fostering cooperation, positive teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship while developing youth as future leaders. This position requires thoughtful and respectful interaction with student athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents, and the community. Strong communication, organizational skills, and safety awareness are essential.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Coach in all aspects of team management and development.
- Coach student athletes to develop technical skills and sportsmanship.
- Promote character development, discipline, and teamwork among players.
- Exhibit positive communication and organizational skills.
- Ensure safety awareness during practices and games.
- Foster cooperation and positive teamwork among athletes.
- Engage respectfully with students, staff, parents, and the community.
