Regional School Unit 57 is seeking a dedicated and passionate JV Boys Basketball Coach to join the athletic department at Massabesic High School. This role supports the Head Coach in developing a competitive and character-driven program aligned with the school's athletic and academic mission.
Compensation
Stipend range of $3,600-$4,500
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Teach sport fundamentals, game strategy, and conditioning techniques.
- Supervise student-athletes during all team activities, ensuring safety and discipline.
- Support students' academic, personal, and social growth.
- Participate in staff meetings, film review, scouting, and strategic planning.
- Contribute to team fundraising, community outreach, and team-building events.
- Promote a culture of sportsmanship, integrity, and Mustang pride.
- Help manage equipment inventory and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with MPA, district, and school athletic policies.
- Travel with the team to away games and events.

- Valid Maine Criminal History Record Check and fingerprinting clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience (high school or college level) or playing experience.
- Strong knowledge of rules, techniques, and strategy.
Schedule
Must be available for evening and weekend practices and games.
Working Conditions
- May work in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
- The role requires physical activity and ability to demonstrate proper techniques within each sports discipline.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasionally excessive.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, stand, climb stairs, lift (ranging from 25–75 lbs depending on student size), bend, pull, push, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks.
