Responsibilities
- Utilizes assessment instruments completed by probation officers and case staffing to identify funding streams for out-of-home care/ placement and/or wrap around services based on needs and behaviors.
- Conducts analysis of provided services, and research to identify and develop interventions, best practices, and services at the district level.
- Responsible for the distribution of cases, coordinating court appearances, and management information in order to monitor workload.
- Consults with probation officers and utilizes risk assessment instruments and case staffing to match juveniles with appropriate alternatives to detention based on needs and behaviors.
- Captures and monitors data outcomes; prepares reports, as necessary, and oversees program evaluation.
- Maintains appropriate documentation which supports compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related fields
- Experience: 3 years of related experience in probation system
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with youth or families—through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or similar roles—is preferred. Experience with Probation, DHHS, NDCS, or related systems, as well as skills in interviewing, investigation, or case management, are also desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay
Starting Salary: $66,495.93 annually (Hiring Rate).
Immediate Growth: Earn a 2.5% pay increase after successfully completing your probation period (if starting at Hiring Rate).
Future Increases: Annual cost-of-living adjustments (applied on July 1) are subject to State Legislature approval.
Higher Starting Pay: Based on education and experience, subject to final management approval.
Schedule
Core hours are Monday–Friday daytime. As part of our 24/7 commitment to community safety, Responsive on-call, evening, night, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
