This role involves performing a variety of administrative and technical duties to assist with the management of the court and facilitate timely and accurate processing of cases through the court system.
Responsibilities
- Assist the appointing authority or chief juvenile officer with tasks such as preparation of the annual budget, court organization, installation and maintenance of the automated case processing system, and special projects for the court.
- Act as a special assistant to the appointing authority or chief juvenile officer and coordinate comprehensive court clerical services.
- Assist with preparation of the county and state budgets for the circuit court; review the court’s needs for staffing, equipment, and supplies, and make recommendations for inclusion in the budget.
- Review the organization of the court and make recommendations regarding the transfer of court resources to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Review the court’s automation needs and coordinate with information technology professionals regarding the installation of new and upgraded court automation systems and maintenance of current systems.
- Prepare various statistical and financial reports as required and conduct special projects for the court.
- Manage preparation and administration of grants.
- Handle social media updates and posts.
- Perform data tracking.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school and possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which must have been with the circuit court.
- Additional experience above the minimum may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws, and legal terminology pertaining to the court.
- Considerable knowledge of the organization, operations, functions, and scope of authority of the court.
- Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to work with court automation systems.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Pay
The salary reflected represents the base pay for this position and does not include any differential for time-of-service pay for state tenure.
