About the role
As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entry Screening in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in government locations by managing access points, monitoring assigned areas, and conducting routine patrols to support a secure environment. This driving post requires visibility, assistance with security-related concerns, and outstanding customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to manage authorized access, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor activity in accordance with site protocols.
- Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public officials as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured entry points, and other security-related concerns.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports related to access activity, incidents, and daily observations, and help support orderly operations through consistent application of post instructions.
Requirements
- Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Hold a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$17.00 / Hour

- Wednesday: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
- Thursday: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
- Friday: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
