About the role
As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Entry Monitor in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a government location where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and support a professional, structured environment for youth services. This is a driving post, offering the chance to stay active, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding communication and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or the public by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas in accordance with post orders and facility rules.
- Screen visitors, deliveries, and/or vehicles as required, maintain visitor logs and related documentation, and communicate access-related information to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and unusual activity.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around designated buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to observe conditions and support security-related operations.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
