Junior Trader

Position Summary

We are seeking a Nuts Junior Trader to support trading and risk management of the Business to Business (B2B) nut portfolio. Key responsibilities include B2B procurement, market intelligence dissemination, and building supplier relationships.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide front-line leadership in optimizing supplier relationships to ensure year-round availability of products for ofi entities.
• Develop and execute trading strategies and manage risk.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and handlers to meet budgeted procurement volumes.
• Develop and foster supplier retention through superior relationship management.
• Act as a key contact for market intelligence and coordinate with the trading team.
• Expand market presence by participating in industry forums and growing the business.
• Proactively interface with other trading support areas to grow the business.
• Identify new opportunities to improve overall Business Unit (BU) profitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or three (3) years of relevant trading experience.
• Experience with California Ag Industry preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with contract negotiation preferred.
• Understanding of supply/demand drivers of the commodity markets.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality.
• Willingness and ability to travel, at times up to 20%.

Pay and Benefits

The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $79,000 - $105,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay may vary based on candidate's experience, qualifications, and other determining factors.
