About the role

The Junior Staff Accountant assists the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations. The role also supervises areas within the Finance Department, including payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering, in accordance with local and corporate policies.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply the Accounting & Finance Manual.
• Support the month-end process, including preparation of financial statements, accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in corporate formats and GAAP compliance.
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, and understand the current edition of USALI.
• Prepare and coordinate monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations, resolving outstanding items.
• Perform daily, monthly, and periodic accounting and financial reporting accurately and on time.
