Job Summary

APTIM is seeking Junior level Radiological Control Technicians to support radiological field operations in San Francisco, CA. We are looking for Health Physics/Radiological Control Technicians who can effectively handle the technical and operational challenges of high-profile and critical field-level project support activities. These technicians will carry out radiation health & safety surveys, controls, and processes with the highest technical and data integrity standards as set by APTIM and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out company’s health physics and industrial hygiene policies and procedures on field project assignments.
  • Perform field Health Physics Technician assignments to align with the objectives of the project work schedule.
  • Operate radiation measuring equipment; conduct radiological surveys and perform radiological sampling; interpret survey and sample data; document radiological surveys in high-quality, error-free format.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2+ years of operational health physics experience within the radiation safety field.
  • Familiarity with radiation protection regulations and standards of the USNRC, USDOD, USDOE, USACE, and Agreement States.
  • Current HAZWOPER 40-hour qualification.
  • General standing, bending, and reaching to support project survey and housekeeping activities.
  • Able to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in environments with additional hazards and PPE requirements, including Tyvek® coveralls and respirators.

Pay Range

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $40.87 - $52.88 per year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
