About the role

The firm seeks candidates with a minimum of 3 years of legal experience who are passionate about high-stakes litigation and trial work. This position offers hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced litigation paralegals, with a focus on expanding defense litigation expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage smaller matters while supporting Senior Paralegals on complex, high-stakes cases.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine processes for the initial review of incoming cases to integrate materials into standard firm systems.
  • Calculate, docket, and monitor deadlines by researching and applying court rules across multiple jurisdictions to ensure accurate calendaring and compliance.
  • Maintain meticulous and organized case files, adhering to established firm systems, processes, and naming conventions.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, and other litigation documents with meticulous accuracy.
  • Schedule and coordinate medical examinations, depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Analyze, review, and organize documents and data from materials produced during discovery; prepare/coordinate document production and responses to discovery requests.
  • Prepare cases for trial and attend as necessary.
  • Duties may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant work experience, along with a paralegal certificate obtained before or within a specified period after hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal experience.
  • Experience working with federal/state court litigation cases.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools, including Westlaw.
  • Experience with iManage or a similar document management tool, as well as Relativity and other eDiscovery platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high-volume workload to meet time-critical deadlines.
  • Experience in calendaring all deadlines and researching court-specific rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and workload efficiently, including recording all billable time spent on case files and client matters.

Work Environment

Schedule

  • Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including a lunch hour.
  • This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Denver, requiring three days in the office and allowing two days remote after an initial on-boarding period.
  • Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek (Sunday through Saturday).

Travel

Travel is limited and primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be needed to attend conferences or other professional functions.

Pay

Salary range: $67,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
