Junior Mechanical Engineer
About the role
The Mechanical Engineer will develop experience in power generation, oil and gas facilities, gas compression, pipelines, and more, focusing on ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 standards. Key responsibilities include creation of P&IDs, HAZOPs or PHAs, material selection, sizing and specifying mechanical equipment, working with lead engineers, calculation checking, and other design tasks. Duties also involve conducting facility process surveys, identifying bottlenecks, making recommendations, and remediating issues. Tasks may include performing basic checks from API RP 14C and 14E, creating construction scopes of work, coordinating with piping designers, developing drawing deliverables, creating bills of materials, and supporting other disciplines. The role requires maintaining project status reports, budgets, and schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering - required
- Registered Professional Engineer or EIT preferred
- Field or shop experience is an advantage
- Knowledge of appropriate software
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional and detail-oriented
- Ability to self-direct and complete work
