About the role

The Junior Finance and Accounting Assistant supports the finance team by performing a variety of finance, accounting, and operational tasks. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial analysis, and contributing to smooth finance operations while supporting senior finance staff and executive leadership. It offers an opportunity to develop finance skills within an innovative technology environment and grow into broader responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounting schedules, including reserves for doubtful accounts and employee bonuses.
  • Prepare depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Prepare variable compensation schedules for sales staff.
  • Assist with invoice preparation and accounts receivable collections.
  • Support recurring finance functions such as payroll, insurance, financial filings, audits, month-end close, and accounts payable.
  • Prepare financial analyses under guidance.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, cap table, and equity management.
  • Support preparation for board meetings and related documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to the CEO, COO, Financial Controller, and Head of Finance.
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Identify and implement workflow and operational improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc operational, finance, and accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in junior finance or accounting roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and take initiative.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and concepts.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience with Ramp or payroll platforms is helpful but not required.

Pay

Salary range: $90,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience, education, and skills.
