Junior Estimator/Estimator in Training

About the role

Chapel is currently hiring an electrical Estimator in training. The Estimator will analyze, review, and interpret engineering contracts, plans, and specifications to develop detailed, comprehensive construction estimates for both small and large projects. This position works closely with Owners, Construction, and Project Managers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review, and interpret engineering contracts, plans, and specifications to develop detailed, comprehensive construction estimates for both small and large projects.
• Complete estimate take-off within time deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Accurately define project requirements.
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and ensure complete scope of work required.
• Assist in determining project resource requirements in alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Provide liaison support to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all estimates submitted are as accurate and complete as possible.
• Provide timely project turnover documentation from Estimating to Project Management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years’ experience estimating.
• Strong understanding of construction documentation and math skills.
• Accubid experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead people and get results through others.
• Ability to effectively organize multiple projects and resource planning skills.
• Technical skills necessary for project engineering.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The employee should expect to sit for long periods in front of a computer and also travel to field locations as needed.
