Junior Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, design, and implementation of environmental remediation projects, including dredging, capping, stream restoration, and wetland construction.
  • Prepare engineering design documents, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations.
  • Contribute to technical reports such as sampling and analysis plans, feasibility studies, and design documentation.
  • Perform environmental sampling of soil, sediment, and water samples.
  • Provide field support for site inspections and construction oversight.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, scientists, planners, and biologists.
  • Coordinate with contractors for review of submittals and response to inquiries.
  • Ensure deliverables meet Anchor QEA’s quality standards.
  • Occasionally travel for fieldwork, site visits, and project meetings (primarily in New England and NY).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Coastal, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in environmental remediation, including investigation, design, and construction.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for field assignments and meetings.

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include experience with contaminated sediment sites and in-water remediation, sediment remediation projects, AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS proficiency, and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in MA or NY.

Skills

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with contaminated sediment sites and in-water remediation.
  • Experience with sediment remediation projects (such as dredging and capping) and stream or wetland restoration projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in MA or NY, or on track to obtain within 3-5 years.
