At Hart & Hickman, we're looking for a Junior Environmental Professional ready to take their early career to the next level. With 2–4 years of experience, you've gotten a taste of environmental consulting and are eager for more responsibility, technical challenge, and a firm invested in your growth. Responsibilities
- Support and manage environmental assessment and remediation projects locally and nationally, both in the field and in the office
- Assist with site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, and technical reporting
- Work alongside project managers and senior consultants on Phase I/II ESAs, vapor intrusion assessments, and NC Brownfields projects
- Learn to navigate state and federal environmental regulatory programs in North and South Carolina
- Participate in field activities including site inspections, sampling events, and remediation oversight—expect meaningful time outdoors and on-site
- Collaborate with and learn from a team of experienced environmental professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 2–4 years of environmental consulting experience with demonstrated field and technical experience
- Familiarity with environmental site assessment and sampling protocols; experience with regulatory programs in the Carolinas is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Curious, takes initiative, and wants to grow into a well-rounded consultant and leadership role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including in outdoor and field conditions
