Junior Electrical Engineer
About the role
LaBella Associates is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer with a career interest in Building Projects to work in our Albany, NY or Poughkeepsie, NY office. This position will work with other Engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings from conception to construction. The Building Engineering Division provides complete building engineering services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering for a variety of clients and project types.
Responsibilities
- Work with other engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports
- Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Perform lighting calculations and arc flash studies
- Perform field investigations to document existing conditions
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating professionally with co-workers, staff, project managers, and other disciplines
- Improve current knowledge of technologies and trends applicable to projects and market types, continually strengthening skills
- Work on power distribution design, circuit and feeder calculations, and power, telecommunication, security, and systems layouts
- Participate in field work, design, and construction administration services
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Interest in building systems and curiosity to learn more
- EIT certification is a plus
- Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred
- Experience in the A/E consulting business is a plus
- Strong writing, organizational, and communications skills
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Projects
Candidates will work on an interesting variety of project types including K-12 and higher education, municipal, health care, large commercial, residential, and other unique projects.
Pay
Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 per year. The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
