Junior Controller
AIRC Overview
AIRC represents excellence in supporting independent basic cancer research. This excellence is built on structured, transparent, and reliable processes, employs nearly 200 collaborators, and has collected over 200 million euros in donations by 2025 through more than 4.5 million supporters. The planning and control area plays a central strategic role in ensuring trust and reliability towards all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Build future navigation tools that allow us to draft budgets and forecasts, read deviations, monitor costs and KPIs, and support management in decision-making. This work is done during a phase of significant transformation: new IT infrastructure, process revisions, and gradual introduction of AI into analysis tools. Management control here is not retrospective accounting but forward navigation.
We do not seek someone who “produces reports”: that part will be automated. We seek someone who can grow, not one who has all the answers, but one who wants to learn. We seek someone who reads within the numbers—understand why a deviation occurs, translate it into a story that leads to a decision, and propose how to improve the process that generated it. Someone curious, proactive, at ease with data and people, for whom AIRC’s mission is not a neutral background but a reason to strive better.
You will join an innovative and change-promoting team. You will help calibrate the control management machine and eventually take care of periodic reporting and dashboards, consolidate and validate data, support the budget and forecast cycle, and analyze cost structures. As you grow, you will bring causal analysis of deviations, insights for areas, and contribute to the redesign of planning processes and tools, including AI.
This is a real mandate in a transformative phase where management control is a strategic lever rather than a service function. It involves working alongside the Responsible and a career path toward analysis and business partnering.
