Responsibilities
- Assist the Engineering Department with project and construction management
- Assist Engineering Program Manager with inspections and daily reports
- Assist Engineering Program Manager with resurfacing program
- Assist Traffic Engineer with Traffic Signal, Street Light Maintenance and Signage as required
- Assist Engineering Department with MS4 Program compliance
- Assist Engineering Department with permit plan reviews, meetings and correspondence
- Assist Engineering Department with Stormwater Management
- Assist Engineering Department with Planning & Zoning reviews and meetings
- Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress
- Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas
- Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner
- Communicates and coordinates regularly with the appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities
- Performs other related duties consistently as directed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or will be graduating from an accredited university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering within the next six months
- Engineer in Training License is not required when applying but must be obtained within one year of employment
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver’s License
