Junior Architectural Designer, Ground-Up - New York Office

About the role

Fogarty Finger (FF) is seeking a talented Junior Designer to join our Groundup studios in New York. We are looking for candidates with strong design skills and 3D modeling abilities for in-house design development use, client presentation, and competition across a wide range of project typologies.

Responsibilities

• Support design development across all project phases
• Participate in creating compelling 3D visualizations and presentation materials for client reviews, design competitions, and internal studies
• Support the preparation of drawing sets and 3D models, following FF’s documentation and BIM standards
• Support consultant coordination and help maintain organized, up-to-date drawing sets and project files
• Auxiliary tasks such as meeting notes, submittal logs, and project tracking, under senior staff direction
• Proactively ask questions, flag issues early, and bring a solutions-oriented mindset to every task

Requirements

• A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
• 0–3 years of relevant professional experience at an architecture firm
• Experience in a range of projects including multifamily residential ground-up, commercial ground-up, affordable housing preferred
• Strong 3D modeling and rendering skills (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, or V-Ray preferred)
• Proficiency in Revit preferred; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• A good spatial sense, strong eye for detail, and clear visual communication skills
• Eagerness to learn, openness to feedback, and genuine curiosity about the craft of design
• Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
• Active pursuit of architectural licensure (ARE) preferred
