Intermediate Architectural Designer, Multifamily Interiors - New York Office
About the role
Fogarty Finger (FF) is an interdisciplinary design studio of over 145 architects and designers dedicated to placemaking within the urban built environment. Founded in 2003, FF is responsible for many prominent residential and commercial projects throughout the United States, with offices in New York, Atlanta, and Boston. Responsibilities
- Participate in design reviews across all project phases to help develop and advance design intent
- Select materials and finishes to ensure alignment with design intent
- Develop technical solutions and construction details in close collaboration with the design team
- Produce drawing sets and 3D models in Revit in accordance with FF’s documentation and BIM standards
- Cook up consultants’ drawings, deliverables, and schedules during DD, CD, and CA phases
- Provide CA responsibilities, including field coordination with trades and consultants, shop drawing review, and construction sketches
- Manage multiple tasks and schedules across concurrent projects with competing deadlines
- Identify potential issues early, document them clearly, escalate concerns to senior team members, and propose resolutions
Requirements
- A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- 3–7 years of relevant professional experience at a similar architecture or interior design firm
- Demonstrated experience in producing DD and CD sets
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present confidently in both internal and client-facing settings
- Proficiency in Revit required; working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering programs (Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, or V-Ray)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Active pursuit of architectural licensure (ARE) or NCIDQ certification is preferred
Qualifications
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Skills
- Ability to translate design concepts into buildable, real-world solutions
- Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, including experience drafting custom design elements
- Familiarity with sourcing materials and writing specifications
- Experience running a project from initial concept through CA
- Hardworking, detail-oriented, and independently motivated, with strong problem-solving skills
Pay
Salary range: $75,000–$95,000 annually (based on experience/skill level)
