Junior Analyst
About the role
This position involves assisting in the determination of updated requirements for standardized documents that govern shipbuilding and writing critical requirements into appropriate contractual language for Ship Specifications. The role requires coordination with the Standards Review Board (SRB), maintenance of technical document repositories, and facilitation of document updates, reviews, and approvals.
Responsibilities
- Research, compile, and maintain historical U.S. Navy specifications, standards, policies, and supporting technical documentation.
- Update, consolidate, and prepare NAVSEA specifications and standards in accordance with NAVSEAINST 4120.24A requirements.
- Review technical documentation for completeness, consistency, formatting, and compliance with established NAVSEA standards and procedures.
- Capture, organize, maintain, and track technical comments, revisions, approvals, and supporting documentation throughout the document lifecycle.
- Aid Technical Warrant Holders (TWHs) in documenting and organizing requirements in a clear, concise, and standardized format for review and approval.
- Maintain technical document repositories, databases, and knowledge management systems to ensure accurate and accessible records.
- Monitor document status, approval progress, and workflow metrics within automated Navy systems and prepare status updates for management review.
- Verify documentation packages are complete and supporting forms are properly prepared prior to submission through the approval process.
- Coordinate with TWHs, engineers, program personnel, and stakeholders to facilitate document updates, reviews, approvals, and publication activities.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- An Active or current DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline OR an associate’s degree and 2 years of additional experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree, OR a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree
- Sound oral and written communications skillset
- Ability to clearly articulate information and effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision after 3 months of training and guidance has been provided
- Sound skillset using the Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to travel 10% of the time
Qualifications
- Experience in technical documentation and requirements development
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy specifications, standards, and policies
- Experience with NAVSEAINST 4120.24A requirements
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
