About the role
The Iowa Judicial Branch, in Polk County, seeks a Judicial Operations Clerk to support efficient court operations and ensure the integrity of court records. Responsibilities
- Process and manage Criminal/Traffic filings and related case documents, including complaints, warrants, motions, and orders.
- Verify accuracy of case information in court systems, ensuring all documents are complete and properly signed.
- Confirm payment of fees and update litigant and attorney information.
- Set hearings and maintain accurate case records.
- Routinely route documents to judges as required.
- Ensure compliance with court procedures and provide assistance to the public, attorneys, probation officers, department of corrections, jail staff, and other court staff as needed.
- Learns and navigates court record-specific computer programs and technology.
- Communicate professionally in person and on the phone with a variety of court users.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of court records with keen attention to detail.
- Occasionally travel to other counties within the judicial district.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or high school equivalency diploma).
- One (1) year of full-time equivalent professional office experience in business support, court, or legal support.
- Experience may be substituted with related education on the basis that successful completion of 30 semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.

Schedule
Hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the position is located in a secured working area within the Polk County Jail (1985 NE 51st Pl, Des Moines, IA 50313).
