Jr. Web Applications Developer – PHP

About the role

BlueStorm Technologies is seeking a Junior-level Web Applications Developer to join our Application Development and Systems Integration Team. You will work closely with senior team members to conceptualize, design, and develop web applications in support of our customer development projects. Our projects include large-scale, high-transaction, and secure web systems as well as mobile web deployments. This is an excellent opportunity for a new web developer to learn from senior team members, gain experience with large systems design and development, and advance your skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop web applications using PHP and related technologies
• Collaborate with senior team members on large-scale, high-transaction, and secure web systems
• Work on mobile web deployments
• Apply object-oriented development concepts and MVC-based frameworks
• Design and model databases (MySQL and others)
• Utilize version control systems such as Subversion
• Work in common development environments like NetBeans or Eclipse

Requirements

• Experience or proficiency with PHP 5
• Understanding of object-oriented development concepts
• Experience with overall web design and construction
• Familiarity with MVC-based concepts and development
• Experience with PHP frameworks such as Yii, Cake, Zend, or Code Igniter
• Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and jQuery
• Knowledge of database modeling and design (MySQL and others)
• Understanding of common design patterns and their application
• Ability to read and understand Java code (JEE)
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related technical field of study is preferable
