Jr. Staff Accountant

About the role

Gold Star Foods is looking for a self-motivated JR. Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you’ll play an important part in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law.

Responsibilities

• Posting journal entries and accruals
• Bank account reconciliations
• Assist with posting bank activity and preparing bank account reconciliation for Gold Star Divisions
• Be the liaison between accounting team and the operational teams on forecasted spend to ensure recording appropriately in ledger.
• Assist with other month-end closing activities and provide management with reports, data, and analysis as requested for month-end closing and various audits
• Assist with preparing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Work with the appropriate department to research and resolve discrepancy issues timely
• Review daily issues and work with the team to resolve
• Work with the Division Controller in completing a clear year end audit
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3 years’ Experience
• Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Business (preferred)
• Foodservice distribution experience
