Jr. Restoration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses to support habitat restoration and fish passage projects.
• Participating in the collection of field data; completing complex analyses and calculations with oversight.
• Preparing design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for restoration projects with oversight.
• Developing project work and reports with oversight.
• Developing construction planning and observation documentation with oversight.
• Providing on-site construction observation and field engineering.

Requirements

• S. degree in stream restoration, ecological, or hydraulic engineering.
• Proficiency in hydrologic analysis for rivers and streams.
• Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydrodynamic modeling software (HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D).
• Experience with technical report writing.
• Construction observation and field engineering experience.
• Experience with topographic or bathymetric field surveying.
• Knowledge of Washington State’s environmental planning and regulatory environment and fisheries biology of the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• Experience working on river and stream restoration and/or fish passage projects including providing field assessments, data collection and analysis, hydraulic modeling, fluvial geomorphology, fish passage and restoration design and construction.
• An understanding of and experience with fluvial, coastal, and estuarine systems is required.

• Salary Range: $65,100-$73,000
