Responsibilities
- Performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses to support habitat restoration and fish passage projects.
- Participating in the collection of field data; completing complex analyses and calculations with oversight.
- Preparing design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for restoration projects with oversight.
- Developing project work and reports with oversight.
- Developing construction planning and observation documentation with oversight.
- Providing on-site construction observation and field engineering.
Requirements
- S. degree in stream restoration, ecological, or hydraulic engineering.
- Proficiency in hydrologic analysis for rivers and streams.
- Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydrodynamic modeling software (HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D).
- Experience with technical report writing.
- Construction observation and field engineering experience.
- Experience with topographic or bathymetric field surveying.
- Knowledge of Washington State’s environmental planning and regulatory environment and fisheries biology of the Pacific Northwest.
Qualifications
- Experience working on river and stream restoration and/or fish passage projects including providing field assessments, data collection and analysis, hydraulic modeling, fluvial geomorphology, fish passage and restoration design and construction.
- An understanding of and experience with fluvial, coastal, and estuarine systems is required.
Skills
- Fluvial, coastal, and estuarine systems understanding.
