Jr. Industrial Programmer - Morgantown, WV

Responsibilities

• Work with Sr. Level personnel to provide turnkey automated solutions specializing in PLC Programming, Human Machine Interface (HMI) Development, and Software installations, with minimal electrical work.
• Perform difficult troubleshooting for customers with direction from Sr. and lead level personnel.
• Represent Pillar Innovations out in the field and maintain good relations with current and prospective customers.
• Design controls systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFD’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integration under Sr. Level supervision.
• Create software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems under Sr. Level supervision.
• Create accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials).
• Define equipment and parts from external suppliers.
• Architect programs that are simple to test, well documented and versatile.
• Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities.
• Create customer documentation such as user manuals and programming diagrams.
• Respond to phone calls and texts after hours and on weekends within a timely manner.
• Facilitate and support manufacturing processes and control systems within operations.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required.
• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in process control and automation is preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office productivity software.
• Proficient with reading and using AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000,500 is preferred.
• HMI / OIT Development experience with Rockwell and/or Wonderware is preferred.
• Able to efficiently plan work tasks to meet company goals.
• Critical thinking with good problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments.
• Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical principals.
• Able to travel up to 40% at times.
• Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs including possible emergency call-out, extended hours and some out-of-town and overnight work.
• Willing to participate in Pillar Innovation’s Drug and Alcohol policy, which includes preemployment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
