Jr. DSP Engineer

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security. Rincon Research Corporation (RRC), an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement digital signal processing systems for communication signals, radar signals, and other applications.
• Develop, deploy, maintain, and test software-based solutions.
• Perform algorithm design, data analysis, hardware control, computational optimization, RF system modeling, field testing, error budget analysis, and operational performance analysis.
• Write efficient software and test with real data.
• Provide applications to front-line customer facilities.
• Stay up-to-date with signal processing technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Experiment with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects.
• Work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment, and O&M.
• Experience direct mission feedback from the customer and see your project provide real-world contributions.
• Propose improvements to applications and frameworks.
• Work unsupervised with minimal direction and self-start.

Requirements

• Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or other equivalent field.
• Strong background in DSP, including knowledge of DSP theory as well as practical system development experience.
• Proficient in C++ and/or Python in LINUX environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.
• US citizenship required.

Skills

Preferred skills:

• At least 3 years' experience in a signal processing engineering-related discipline.
• Cellular communications, satellite communications, modern modulation schemes, cyclostationary techniques.
• Geolocation, radar signal processing, RF propagation and link budgets, RF system design.
• DevOps and Cloud computing experience (Gitlab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PІP).
• Current TS/SCI clearance.

Location

This position is located at our Tucson, Arizona Headquarters. Remote work/telework is not available for this position.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $89,000 to $109,000. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
