Jr. DSP Engineer

About the Role

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security. We are seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who are collectively responsible for creating custom digital signal processing solutions and leveraging them to make an operational mission impact.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing digital signal processing systems for communication signals, radar signals, and other applications
• Developing, deploying, maintaining, and testing software-based solutions
• Algorithm design, data analysis, hardware control, computational optimization, RF system modeling, field testing, error budget analysis, operational performance analysis
• Writing efficient software, testing with real data, and providing applications to front-line customer facilities
• Staying up-to-date with signal processing technologies, tools, and methodologies and experimenting with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects
• Working across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment and O&M
• Experiencing direct mission feedback from the customer and seeing your project provide real-world contributions that make a significant difference
• Proposing things that you believe will improve the applications and frameworks you're working in
• Working unsupervised with minimal direction and self-starting

Required Qualifications

• Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or other equivalent field
• Strong background in DSP, including knowledge of DSP theory as well as practical system development experience
• Proficient in C++ and/or Python in LINUX environments
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
• US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred Skills

• At least 3 years' experience in a signal processing engineering-related discipline
• Cellular communications, satellite communications, modern modulation schemes, cyclostationary techniques
• Geolocation, radar signal processing, RF propagation and link budgets, RF system design
• DevOps and Cloud computing Experience (Gitlab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PІР)
• Current TS/SCI clearance

Location

This position is located at our Chantilly, VA office.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $98,000 to $110,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
