Jr. DSP Engineer

About the role

Rincon Research Corporation (RRC) is an employee-owned company innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security. We are seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment alongside electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts. Responsibilities

• Design and implement digital signal processing systems for communication signals, radar signals, and other applications.
• Develop, deploy, maintain, and test software-based solutions.
• Perform algorithm design, data analysis, hardware control, computational optimization, RF system modeling, field testing, error budget analysis, and operational performance analysis.
• Write efficient software and test with real data.
• Provide applications to front-line customer facilities.
• Stay up-to-date with signal processing technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Experiment with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects.
• Work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment, and operations & maintenance.
• Experience direct mission feedback from customers and see your projects provide real-world contributions.
• Propose improvements to applications and frameworks.
• Work unsupervised with minimal direction and self-start as required.

Requirements

• Degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent field.
• Strong background in DSP, including knowledge of DSP theory and practical system development experience.
• Proficient in C++ and/or Python in Linux environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• At least 3 years’ experience in a signal processing engineering-related discipline.
• Experience with cellular communications, satellite communications, modern modulation schemes, or cyclostationary techniques.
• Knowledge of geolocation, radar signal processing, RF propagation and link budgets, or RF system design.
• Experience with DevOps and Cloud computing (GitLab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP).
• Current TS/SCI clearance.

Location

This position is located at either our Centennial, CO or Chantilly, VA offices.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $98,000 to $110,000. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
