Jr. Developer (Javascript, SQL, CSS)

Our client, a respected educational/public sector organization, is seeking a Junior JavaScript Developer for a long-term onsite contract opportunity with excellent benefits and long-term career stability. This role is ideal for recent Computer Science graduates or aspiring developers with hands-on experience and a portfolio of programming projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Work with databases and assist with data-related development tasks
• Apply fundamental programming concepts and data structures
• Support application enhancements, testing, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with technical and business teams on project initiatives

Requirements

• JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Basic knowledge of database design and theory (SQL experience preferred)
• Understanding of fundamental data structures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
• Option 2: Minimum 1 year of professional development experience with a portfolio (GitHub link required on resume) demonstrating JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS projects. Candidates without a degree will be asked to showcase and discuss their work.

Position Details

Location: Westbury, NY (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:00 PM (35 hours/week)

Compensation: $35-$39/hour (W2) depending on level of experience
