JR Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a growth-oriented Junior to Mid-Level Backend Engineer who will focus on building, optimizing, and maintaining robust APIs and backend services. We value efficiency, modern workflows, and an innate curiosity for how things work. You should be comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation while maintaining high code quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing APIs.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues across backend services.
• Integrate AI development tools into your daily workflow to optimize code generation, refactoring, and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, focusing on readability, security, and performance.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following: TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Python.
• Experience with GraphQL and AWS is preferred.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, databases, and microservices architecture.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills; a proactive "detective" mindset when bugs arise.
• Practical familiarity with AI coding assistants and an understanding of how to prompt and validate AI-generated code effectively.
