Java Backend Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid – 2-3 days a week in office; in-person interview required)

About the Role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to review project requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions. You will gather design documents, product requirements, and wireframes, then develop and test code to ensure quality and reliability. Strong communication and collaboration with project-specific and cross-functional teams are essential to troubleshoot issues, resolve bugs, and ensure on-time project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Review project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Gather necessary information, including design documents, product requirements, and wireframes.
• Write, develop, and unit test code to ensure quality and reliability.
• Communicate project status, issues, and updates to team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project-specific and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve bugs.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and hand-offs are executed smoothly.
• Provide input and insights to project managers for project planning.
• Review and provide feedback on proposed solutions.
• Participate in design and code reviews for changes.
• Ensure team work meets required standards and deadlines.

Requirements

• Strong core Java and J2EE knowledge.
• In-depth understanding of Java Spring and Spring Boot applications.
• Hands-on experience building large-scale microservices for highly scalable and robust platforms.
• In-depth understanding of NoSQL database implementations (e.g., Cosmos, MongoDB).
• Strong knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with cloud systems like Azure or GCP.
• Clear understanding of design principles for large-scale, robust platforms.
