Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and Installation: Measure, cut, bend, and form sheet metal according to specifications. Install fabricated sheet metal products according to job requirements.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret and follow blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to ensure accurate construction and installation.
- Tool Use: Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in fabricating and installing sheet metal products.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect work to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance on sheet metal products and systems. Repair damaged or worn parts as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and standards. Ensure work areas are clean and safe.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other tradespeople and contractors to complete projects.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in sheet metal work.
- Certifications: Valid Sheet Metal Journeyman license. Additional relevant certifications are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and tools.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in various positions.
