Sheet Metal Journeyman

About the role

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking a skilled Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will work on well-managed commercial projects, alongside experienced foremen and crews who prioritize safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work safely no matter what
• Understand blueprints and drawings
• Lay out and install commercial duct work in various job settings
• Unload, move, and handle commercial-scale duct work
• Properly finish and seal duct work to pass testing
• Help train apprentices
• Work at heights, from ladders, lifts, or roof
• Assist with installing commercial HVAC equipment

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial sheet metal installation experience
• Journeyman-level training or documented field experience
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Qualifications

Must be able to:

• Keep it a Drug-free Workplace
• Be punctual and reliable
• Work as a team
• Work in extremes of heat, cold, bad weather, indoors and outdoors
• Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Willing to be cross-trained in different trades
• Work in confined spaces
• Work above shoulders, crawl, squat, kneel, bend
• Exercise motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination

Local commercial projects in the Knoxville area.
Day shift.
Overtime as required.
